Kings Of Leon Cancel Shows To Say Goodbye To Ailing Mother

Popular rock band Kings of Leon cancelled their upcoming shows and flew home after learning that the mother of several of the band members is seriously ill.

Brothers Caleb, Jared and Nathan Followill told fans in an Instagram post Thursday that they came to know that their mother Betty-Ann is ailing just before taking the stage at The Forum.

“It was a hard show to get through, but you held us up that night in a way we will never forget,” the siblings added.

They said that immediately following the show, they flew home, “where we will remain by her side until the time comes to say goodbye.” Kings of Leon announced they have cancelled their scheduled shows at Shoreline Amphitheatre in San Francisco and at Ohana Festival this weekend in order to spend time with their mother.

“We wanted to say thank you to all of our fans, to Eddie, and to our entire Pearl Jam family for supporting us during this time,” the Instagram post concludes.

Formed in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1999, Kings Of Leon is composed of brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill with their cousin Matthew Followill.
