Denmark’s Roskilde Festival Cancelled For Second Straight Year

Denmark’s Roskilde Festival has been cancelled for the second consecutive year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The organizers said they were forced to postpone the music festival, which was scheduled to start on July 26, to 2022 after receiving an official statement about this summer’s restrictions.

Artists such as The Strokes, Tyler, The Creator, DaBaby, Doja Cat, and Megan Thee Stallion were in the line-up of artists for the eight-day festival.

“We are devastated by the fact that we can’t get together at our festival and contribute to recreating the communities that the corona crisis has destroyed for so many,” organizers said in a statement. “The cancellation is very serious for the festival, for the charity society behind it and for our community. And it is serious for the artistic environments and the growth segments of culture.”

“But it will not be possible to gather 130,000 people at Roskilde Festival this summer,” they added. “But we will meet again in 2022. And our community is strong.”

Ticket holders have the option to either transfer their tickets to 2022 or get a refund.
